Fitness World underwent a restructuring that involved changes to existing roles. This required effective communication to attract new talent and ensure current employees stayed connected and engaged during the transition.
-
Through qualitative research, we identified employees who embraced the new work methods and showcased them as role models. Fitness World shifted focus from just work-related roles to how they could add value to their employees' lives and sense of purpose beyond work. For example, Frederik saw the value of his work when he could help an elderly person carry their groceries without pain. Oliver aspired to move into management, and Stine, with over ten years of leadership experience, applied her skills by leading weekly group training sessions. These stories were shared across internal platforms, recruitment channels, fitness centers, social media, and TV spots.
-
The initiative led to a 34% increase in employee engagement, as internal surveys showed a higher awareness and alignment with the organizational changes. Participation in change-related initiatives grew significantly. On the talent side, the recruitment campaign resulted in a rise in applications from highly skilled candidates, while retention rates improved by 15% as employees connected with the transformation through authentic, relatable peer stories.

Stine, one of the role models, was interviewed about how Fitness World helped her balance work and personal life. We crafted her story, which was used in both external talent acquisition and internal communications to highlight Fitness World's employee promise.
